Dive into the delightful world of fabric origami! Learn the mesmerizing technique of creating "inside out" folded flowers, transforming simple squares into stunning dimensional blooms. This class will guide you through each step, from basic folds to final assembly, resulting in a beautiful and unique pillow cover. Blossom your skills and craft a flower garden!

What You'll Learn:

• Master the "inside out" origami flower folding technique.

• Precisely cut and assemble fabric squares for perfect flower formations.

• Construct a decorative border to enhance your flower design.

• Assemble and finish a pillow cover with a secure back closure.

• Explore creative embellishment options with buttons and other decorative elements.

• Learn how to properly layer and quilt your project.

Materials to Bring:

• Your sewing machine (in good working order).

• Hand sewing needles.

• Thread (various colors to coordinate with your fabrics).

• Three buttons or Velcro for the back closure.

• Muslin: 40" x 18".

• Batting: 40" x 18".

• Fabric Squares (for flowers): 5 squares, each 10" x 10" (various colors).

• Background Fabric: 1 and 1/3 yards.

Cutting Instructions (Pre-Cut if Possible):

• Flower Squares: 5 squares, each 6 1/2" x 6 1/2".

• Flower Border: 10 strips, each 5" x 1 1/4".

• Flower Border: 10 strips, each 6 1/2" x 1 1/4".

• Left and Right Borders: 2 strips, each 4 1/2" x 12 1/2".

• Top and Bottom Borders: 2 strips, each 3 1/2" x 2 1/2".

• Back of Pillow: 2 pieces, each 38 1/2"

Optional Items:

• Fabric glue.

• 1/2" fusible webbing.

• Buttons for the center of your flowers.

• Creative Grids Multi-Sized Curved Corner Ruler.

Class Goal:

By the end of this class, you will have the knowledge and skills to create beautiful "inside out" folded flower projects, and you will have started or completed your own unique pillow cover.
