Bags Lab

Project: The "Store-It-Neatly" Reusable Shopping Bag

Let’s Get Carried Away in 2026! Welcome to the launch of Bag Lab! Whether you are looking to ditch plastic bags, sew up a quick gift, or just want to conquer your fear of bag construction, this is the perfect place to start.

For our January project, we are making a sturdy, reusable shopping bag that folds up neatly for easy storage. It’s practical, eco-friendly, and a whole lot of fun to make!

What You Will Learn: This class is designed to build your confidence with essential bag-making techniques:

  • Squaring Corners: Give your bag a professional shape and depth.

  • French Seams: Learn this "magical" technique to hide raw edges, making the inside of your bag look just as neat as the outside (no lining required!).

  • Patchwork Option: Advanced Challenge! If you’re feeling adventurous, we’ll show you how to turn this into a patchwork bag to bust through your stash.

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate. If you can sew a straight line, you can take this class!
